A sixteen year old girl trudged through wind and snow, trying to find shelter. She didn't call out to see if anyone was there in case -he- was.
Lyn Tie-Fei was not the typical person you would expect to find in a forest outside Ba Sing Se. For one, she was a firebender. A darn good one at that. You could say being one of the top noblemen firebenders at the Fire Nation capitol didn't go to her head, but that would be a lie. As a matter of fact, Lyn's ego was very large. She never picked fights without being absolutely sure she could win, therefore; she hardly ever lost.
Then, Lyn had fought him.
She had been boasting about her bending and fighting prowess, again, when a quiet young man had challenged her to a battle. Lyn accepted, and like before every fight, they bowed and shook hands. On the way to her side of the arena, Lyn started to feel woozy. Immediately, she collapsed all together. A shadow appeared over her and a deep voice said, "I have the antidote to the poison I just injected you with right here. If you surrender I will give it to you." Lyn merely grunted, but he took it for a yes. Pouring the contents of the bottle down her throat, the young man stood up and said to the crowd, "I win." Then Lyn passed out.
The most humiliating battle of her life had lasted under two minutes. Not long after that, she had finally cracked under her parents collective thumb. Lyn ran away to Ba Sing Se. Not her smartest decision. For some reason, that young man was now there too, following her.
Lyn's jet black hair whipped around her pale face with the wind. Her startlingly green eyes searched fruitlessly for a shelter. The red rose clip holding her hair was forced out by the wind and her hair now completely covered her face, obscuring what little vision she had had.

A young man around sixteen or seventeen years of age struggled against the freak wind and snow while trying to find a young woman. His long, brown hair had fallen out of its normal ponytail and now hung in shags around his face.
Kurzon was of Fire Nation blood but not a bender. His main fighting strategy revolved around his broad sword and poisons. He had an extensive knowledge of poisons and numerous ways to inject it into others. On of his personal favorites was the gold ring on the middle finger of his left hand. The inside of therght was hollow, with a tiny needle sticking out of it. After filling with his choice of poisons, Kurzan merely needed to touch another person to administer it.
He had used it on the girl he was hunting.
One seemingly normal day at the village near the Fire Nation capital, Kurzan had heard a young woman boasted /loudly/ about her bending skills. After a few minutes, Kurzan got bored and filled his ring with a simple sleeping potion. Then he challenged her to a fight and after shaking hands, he watched her for signs of the toxin. She started wobbling then crumpled to the ground. Grinning devilishly, the young man walked over to her and whispered in her ear the ultimatum, that Lyn had believed would decide her fate.
Taking her angry grunt for a yes, Kurzan poured a solvent into her mouth that made her fall unconscious. The he charmed her family by bring home her limp figure, saying he had seen her laying on the side of the road and just /couldn't/ leave her there. They bought it hook, line and sinker.
Three weeks later, Lyn's distraught parents appeared on his door steps, begging him to bring their ran-away daughter home. Kurzan agreed, and followed them Lyn all the way to Ba Sing Se. Unfortunately, Lyn had spotted him and fled to a forest outside the city.
Ergo, they both were caught in the freak storm. -d-

"Yowch..."
A pretty, young woman sat up in a dark forest and tried to remember how she got there.
"What in the world?.... OH!"
She suddenly remembered as the back of her skull had started throbbing. After seeing that man in Ba Sing Se, she had run as far as an ostrich-horse she had stolen could take her. After reaching a forest and abandoning the animal outside it, she remembered a monkey had thrown something at her then black.
"Stupid monkey..."
Lyn Tie-Fei was not the typical person you would expect to find in a forest anywhere near Ba Sing Se. For one, she was a firebender. A darn good one at that. You could say being one of the top noblemen firebenders at the Fire Nation capitol didn't go to her head, but that would be a lie. As a matter of fact, Lyn's ego was very large. She had been boasting about her bending and fighting prowess, again, when a quiet young man had challenged her to a battle. Lyn accepted, sure his quietness reflected on his fighting skills, and like before every fight, they bowed and shook hands. On the way to her side of the arena, Lyn started to feel woozy. Immediately, she collapsed all together. A shadow appeared over her and a deep voice said, "I have the antidote to the poison I just injected you with right here. The most humiliating battle of her life had lasted under two minutes. Not long after that, she had finally cracked under her parents' collective thumb. Lyn had run away to Ba Sing Se. Not her smartest decision, for soon after her arrival there that dratted snooty princess Azula had taken over. Now, for some reason that probably involved her parents, that young man was now there too, following her.
Grumbling as she stood up, Lyn tried to wipe all the mud off her leggings and tunic, but in vain. Finally she just gave up and started to explore the misty forest.
"Hello..." A drawling voice whispered.
Lyn jumped and whirled around, fist immediatly on fire for better vision. "Who's there?"
"No one..." It said. After the same voice laughed, all was quiet.
"What's going on here..?" Lyn shivered and kept her fires up while walking.
-----
"Where did you go..?" A young man said quietly to himself. The young woman he had followed here had entered this strange place, then mysteriously disappeared.

Tired of his fruitless search, Kurzan walked over to a tree and swung himself into it. Quickly scaling as high as he could without going on a thin limb, he combed through the bog below in search of her. Nothing caught his eye so, he slid down and started walking again.
An odd feeling passed over Kurzan as he walked. Almost like he was being watched...
